Southend day trip for underprivileged children

Around 300 children made the trip from London to spend a warm summers day in Southend today thanks to London's taxi drivers.  The annual day trip organised by the London Taxi drivers Fund for Underprivileged Children generously gave up their spare time to help. The children, who were from underprivileged backgrounds or have special needs, were treated to the day out as part of a scheme which has been ongoing for 80 years.
