ComfortDelgro look towards Uber partnership

Perry Richardson

ComfortDelgro have entered into talks with Uber in regards to a potential partnership that could see its Asian taxi fleet appear on the Uber platform.

The Singaporean based taxi operator has struggled to compete against rivals such as Grab and Uber themselves.

ComfortDelgro has agreed exclusivity with the controversial American minicab firm to hold a potential alliance that would benefit both parties.

Some of the benefits could include sharing fleet vehicles and booking systems starting in the Singapore region. That means taxis will potentially appear on the Uber platform.

Currently ComfortDelgro still holds the biggest fleet of taxis in Singapore, but like other taxi trades around the world, growth has been hit with the rise of on demand apps.

Worldwide, the operator has presence in seven major countries including the lucrative UK market where it holds a sizeable fleet of taxis (ComCab) and buses.
