Sadiq Khan stays quiet on the subject of Uber’s future

Sadiq Khan yesterday declined the opportunity to comment further on whether the controversial writing app Uber will have its license renewed at the end of the month.
The London Mayor was asked to comment at the Mayors question time and said any kind of commentary could prompt legal action after the decision is made.
Mayor Khan said "You would appreciate I'm sure how inappropriate it would be, bearing in mind that this is quasi-judicial role that is played, for me as the Mayor of London and Chair of TfL to give a running commentary,"
"If for no other reason, because they would then challenge that in the courts and say that the outcome of the application had been pre-judged."
Several key officials have called for Uber's license not to be renewed. Accusations range from not being a "fit and proper operator" and criticizing its record on safety and working rights.
