Uber renewal licence announcement could be triggered "as soon as Friday"

The Taxi and Private Hire industries could hear the decision on Uber's operators licence "as early as Friday" according to sources at Sky News.

The current four month operators licence expires on 30th September. 

Sources have said they believe that there is a "‎growing expectation" that Transport for London would not be renewing the controversial minicab firms licence or at the very least would impose extremely high restrictions.  The move would force 10,000's of minicab drivers to seek future work from one of the capital's 3,000 existing operators.
