Britiain's minister for London critical of Uber decision

A government minister has heavily criticised the London authorities for deciding not to renewal Uber's minicab operators licence.

Using his Twitter account, Greg Hands, the government minister for London wrote "At the flick of a pen Sadiq Khan is threatening to put 40,000 people out of work and leave 3.5 million users of Uber stranded,”

In further Tweets he added "But blanket ban will cause massive inconvenience to millions of Londoners, showing that the mayor is closed to business & innovation,”

“Once again the actions of Labour leave ordinary working people pay the price for it.”

This backlash was expected as the Uber lobby ramped up its efforts to put pressure on Sadiq Khan and TfL. Few people have disputed the reasons why Uber has been pushed out of the capital, but many still want access to cheap rides regardless.

Whether it be a gross misunderstanding of the regulations surrounding the Taxi and Private Hire industry or simply naive to the problems they are causing, those associatated to TfL are in line for an extended ear bashing.
