Uber; "once a driver accepts, ULL confirms the booking to the passenger"

Perry Richardson

American minicab firm Uber have stated in its workers rights tribunal appeal that the booking is confirmed once a driver accepts the ride.

This astonishing admission in regards to how the platform works has cast serious doubts as to whether Uber meets licensing requirements and would be vigorously questioned if a renewal appeal was to be successfully overturned.

To be an operator in London all bookings must be accepted by the operator BEFORE being past to the driver to complete. According to commentary from within the court rooms Uber have said that the job is offered to the nearest driver who then chooses to accept or reject the ride. Uber have no say in the acceptance process of a booking.
