Sadiq Khan; Uber's licence appeal could take years

The controversial minicab Uber could be operating in London for "years" whilst they appeal against the non-renewal of its operating licence says Mayor Sadiq Khan.

The regulator Transport for London deemed Uber "not fit and proper" to remain operating in the capital back in September. The minicab firm has since lobbied hard against the decision and the appeals process has begun.

London Mayor, Sadiq Khan said at a monthly questions session that its "My understanding is that it could go on for a number of years."

This news is likely to infuriate taxi drivers and other opposition to the Uber platform and will leave many questioning why a service deemed unfit and unsafe for London can continue operating for such a long time period.
