Swansea cabby convicted of rape

A Swansea taxi driver was today convicted of rape after picking up a drunk 17 year old girl and taking her back to his home before assaulting her. 

40 year old Katar Shahin,  a married man from Haford in Swansea, denied rape aftwr claiming that the girl was a prostitute. 

Swansea Crown Court heard how Shahin told the girl that he would take her home for free after she claimed that she had no money. Shahin then took the girl to a McDonalds and onto his home before sexually assaulting her.

The Metro reported how police described Shahin as a "sexual predator" and have praised the young girls courage.

Shahin recieved a 10 year sentence and will have to sign the sex offenders register for life.
