Spanish cabbies to stage 24 hour strike

Taxi drivers in Spain will be staging a 24 hour strike from 6am on Wednesday 29th November. 

Spanish taxi union, Fedetaxi, have called for called for the action in protest against the rising number of private hire licenses that are being issued nationally.

Cabify and Uber are also coming under fire from the Spanish taxi industry as the union demand tougher restrictions against the rise of e-hailing apps 

The Costa Del Sols leading English speaking Spanish radio staion Global FM 93.6 has said that services both in and out of Malaga Airport as well as train stations on the Costa Del Sol could be hit.

Union leaders have said that some taxi services will operate out of Malaga Airport, but travellers may have a long wait. Taxi services away from the airport will not be working during the strike.
