Uber want 50% subsidy for disabled passengers in Australia

Perry Richardson

Uber have said customers with disabilities in Australia should qualify to use the 50% government subsidy on offer in private ride-hailing services rather than just relying on local licensed taxis.

Uber submitted a report to the New South Wales government's Transport Disability Incentives and Subsidies Review review paper saying journeys for passengers with disabilities as it stands are 'uncompetitively high' and Uber call for a 'neutral' benefits scheme across both private and licensed taxis industries

'Expanding passenger subsidies to all point to point services is a significant reform that will benefit users,' Uber says in its submission according to Sky News Australia
