Ubers top European "deal maker" quits
Fraser Robinson, Uber's top European "dealmaker", is stepping down from his role. The controversial ride-hailing app confirmed on Wednesday that Robinson was quitting but would continue to work within the company as a senior adviser. Uber's $3.5billion deal with Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund was overseen by Mr Robinson in 2016. A spokesperson for the company said in a statement, reported in Reuters : "After more than three outstanding years as Head of Business for EMEA at Uber, Fraser has decided to step down from his extremely demanding role in favour of being appointed a Senior Adviser to Uber" This comes just a week after three senior managers in Uber's security unit resigned following criticism from new CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, surrounding a major data breach within Uber technologies Inc. It's not yet know who will take over Mr Robinson's role.Â
