London: Weekly roads, travel and events update
London Bridge From 01:00 on Saturday 3 until 05:00 on Monday 5 February, Tooley Street will be closed in both directions between Borough High Street and Bermondsey Street. Parliament Square From 05:00 on Monday 5 until 23:00 on Monday 26 February, Abingdon Street in both directions between Great Peter Street and Parliament Square will be closed. This is due to Westminster City Council carrying out utility works. Streatham From 00:01 on Tuesday 6 February until 23:59 on Thursday 29 March, there be various restrictions in place on Streatham High Road at the junction of Tooting Bec Gardens near St Leonard's Church. Hammersmith Bridge From Saturday 10 until Sunday 18 February, surveying work will take place on the Hammersmith Bridge as part of refurbishment work to ensure its long term safety and reliability. The bridge will be closed daily from 08:00 until 18:00 as follows: • In both directions from Saturday 10 until Monday 12 February • To northbound traffic only from Tuesday 13 until Friday 16 February The bridge will also be closed in both directions from 08:00 on Saturday 17 until 18:00 on Sunday 18 February.Â
Cancer Research UK London Winter Run On Sunday 4 February, some roads will be closed until 16:30 for an event. These include Pall Mall East from 02:30; Pall Mall, Whitehall, Trafalgar Square and approaches including Strand and Northumberland Avenue, and roads within the St James’s Park Area from 05:00; Chancery Lane, New Fetter Lane, High Holborn, Fleet Street westbound, Waterloo Bridge, Aldwych, Kingsway, and various roads in the City of London from 08:00. Westminster On Saturday 3 February, between 12:00 and 17:00 there will be closures of Gower Street, Bloomsbury Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, Charing Cross Road, Trafalgar Square and approaches, and Whitehall. This is due to a demonstration.
