Generous Cambridge cabbies to aid elderly during snowy disruption

Perry Richardson

With the temperatures plummeting across the country, taxi drivers and private hire drivers from two companies based in Cambridge and St Ives are going the extra mile to help the elderly.

Cabbies from Panther Taxis and T&T Private Hire Ltd will be delivering shopping to pensioners or those who are vulnerable free of charge.

The move was sparked after there was concern as to how those who are less mobile would cope in the adverse weather conditions.

The drivers will also be supplying electric top ups, gas bottles and prescription, all at cost with free delivery.
