London cabbie stabbed multiple times on rank outside station

Perry Richardson

A London taxi driver was stabbed multiple times outside Harrow-on-the-Hill station in what is being treated as an attempted robbery according to police sources.

The taxi rank set outside the north-west London station on College Road was closed off by police on Sunday 4th March after the incident took place in the early hours that day.

The driver waiting on the rank was approached by two men who opened the cab door and demanded money.

The driver, a man in his early 50s, attempted to close the door of the black cab and one of the men stabbed him in the leg and arm.

The suspects then made off empty-handed. The victim was taken to a central London hospital and treated for his injuries; he has since been discharged.

The suspect who used the knife is described as white, aged about 20 and he spoke with an eastern European accent.

This attack comes just weeks after another knife related incident on the same road which left a member of public fighting for his life.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call Harrow police on 101.
