Court hears London Uber driver 'raped drunk passenger on back seat of his car'

A driver on the controversial minicab app Uber has been accused of raping a drunk passenger in his car moments after grabbing her as she tried to enter her house. Muhammad Durrani, 38, is currently in court facing accusations that he attacked the woman in the back seats of his vehicle after driving her back home from a club in Clapham. Mr Durrani denies both rape and sexual assault charges which date back to July 2016. Jurors at Southwark Crown Court heard that after being let out of the Toyota car the passenger went to enter her house trying to find her keys. Then Durrani is alleged to have followed the woman to her front door, picked her up and carried her to his car where he proceeded to rape and sexually assault the woman.
“I was obviously very, very drunk, and he was the sober driver who picked me up and took me to the back of his car without my wanting him to,” the alleged victim told police. The trial continues at Southwark Crown Court
