Flying taxi chief departs Uber

It's been announced, in a surprise move, that Jeff Holden, chief of Uber's flying taxi division, has left the company. The news has been revealed by Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi via an internal communication to Holdens team. Holden's replacement will be Eric Allison, who was formerly at flying car company Zee Aero. Jeff Holden, previously at Groupon, was hired by former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick four years ago. Holden was one of the architects of UberPool and was allegedly a srrong advocate of some of Uber's more controversial ethics, such as "toe-stepping."
With Dara Khosrowshahi, looking to change Uber's "move fast and break things, don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness" ethos, it's unsurprising that Holden is the latest to depart from Uber.
