Man charged with attempted robbery after cabbie dragged out of vehicle and attacked near Kirkham

Police have charged a Blackpool man with attempted robbery after a cabbie was dragged from his vehicle and attacked.
Police were appealing for information after the taxi driver was attacked close to Kirkham. At around 1.10am on December 22, the taxi driver had stopped outside an address on Treales Road, close to the Derby Arms Pub. A woman passenger then left the vehicle and went inside a nearby property. A man then appeared, opening the car door and demanded the taxi driver got out of the vehicle.Â
The man then dragged the driver out of the car and attacked him, before attempting to drive away. However, the attacker was unable to start the car, and made off on foot.. The victim, a 47-year-old man from Preston, suffered minor facial injuries.
29 year old Ryan Gorman of Kincraig Place, Blackpool, was arrested by police yesterday and has been charged in connection with the crime.Â
