Chairman of the largest Taxi firm outside of London suspended after auditors find thousands of pound

Stephen Flynn, the Chairman of cab firm Glasgow Taxis, has been axed after a financial probe. Flynn was suspended after alleged irregularities were discovered during an audit and has now been expelled from the company’s board. 

It has been reported by the Daily Record, that the internal investigation related to a sum of more than £9000. 

The Daily Record confirmed that Flynn had said earlier this month that advanced wages were taken but all the money had been paid back.  It is now believed that the firms books are now back in order. 

Drivers who work for the company have had their say, with one expressing his support for the decision to get rid of Flnn by saying everyone is glad that he is gone.

"He is a well kent face but he needs to take this on the chin" he added. 

Another driver said that the incident has become a big talking point amongst taxi drivers waiting on the ranks. 

Glasgow Taxis Ltd have said that it would be inappropriate to comment as an investigation into the findings is ongoing.

Glasgow Taxis claim on their website to be the largest supplier of licensed taxis in Glasgow,  Scotland, and the largest in the UK outside of London with over 800 vehicles.
