BULGING TYRE: Two taxi licences suspended after tyre and meter defects found

Two taxi drivers have been immediately SUSPENDED after police officers in the Avon and Somerset area found two major vehicle defects.

Roads policing officers found an ugly looking bulging tyre on one taxi and a faulty meter on another.

The vehicles were found as part of an evening of enforcement and compliance checks in the Yeovil and Taunton area.

An Avon and Somerset Roads Policing spokesperson said: “Last night we conducted further taxi compliance checks in Yeovil and Taunton. A positive evening of engagement and enforcement action with 2 licences immediately suspended for defects (faulty meter & bulged tyre) and one rectification notice issued.”
