A private hire driver pleaded he did not know what the message ‘turn fog lights off’ meant whilst travelling on the M60 motorway.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police Traffic unit shard images of a Skoda private hire vehicle which followed a police patrol car for over two miles with its fog lights on.
The patrol vehicle displayed the message ‘turn fog lights off’ which the driver ignored. Police officers then pulled the driver over and he said he did not understand the request to turn off the fog lights.
The driver was issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR).
A spokesperson from GMP Traffic said via social media: “This vehicle followed ME48 for over 2 miles M60 and completely ignored the matrix message “turn fog lights off”. Driver failed to comply with the request and when stopped stated he didn’t know what “turn fog lights off” meant! Driver issued a TOR”
