Private Hire Vehicle driver arrested after testing POSITIVE for cannabis

Police in Merseyside placed a driver of a Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) into custody after failing a roadside drugs test.

The driver of the red Ford Focus minicab was initially stopped by Merseyside Police due to their ‘manner of driving’. Further investigation and a roadside drugs test revealed a positive result for cannabis.

The driver was arrested and will give further samples under police custody.

A Merseyside Roads Policing Unit said: “Driver stopped due to manner of driving and subject to drug wipe which was positive for cannabis. Driver arrested for further samples at custody.
