REPORTED: Taxi driver asks police ‘CAN WE JUST FORGET ABOUT THIS’ after running red light

A taxi driver in Exeter asked police officers “can we just forget about this?” after they caught the cabbie accelerating through a red light.

Police officers on patrol in Exeter on Saturday night stopped a red taxi for driving through a red traffic light. The taxi driver proclaimed his innocence before asking officers if it would be possible to ‘forget about this’.

The driver was later reported for his actions.

Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team said via social media: “This taxi was stopped in Exeter last night after contravening a red traffic signal. “It was amber!” he said. It was as he accelerated to beat it but alas it was red when he drove through. “Can we just forget about this?”, no we can’t. Driver reported.”
