Officers from the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) responded to a vehicle breakdown in a perilous position on the M6, between junctions 13 and 12 in Staffordshire. The car, stranded in a live lane, posed a significant risk to motorists.

Upon arrival, CMPG officers moved the vehicle to a nearby safety bay. A subsequent inspection revealed severe tyre wear; the front nearside tyre had worn down to the cord, compromising the vehicle's safety by rubbing against the bodywork.

A Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) spokesperson said: “We attened a car which had broken down in a live lane today, M6 south J13-J12 Staffordshire.

“We safely moved it to a bay and found the front nearside tyre through to cord and rubbing the bodywork.

“Another danger off the road.”
