Merseyside Police have issued these CCTV stills of a man they believe could have vital information which could assist enquiries into an assault in West Derby in August.

The force said they were called at 10.20pm on Bank Holiday Monday 26 August, to a report that a 34-year-old man was walking along East Prescot Road toward Eaton Road when he got into a very brief altercation with another man, who had been driving a Hackney cab moments earlier.

The man continued to walk in the direction of Eaton Road and the other man got back into his black Hackney cab.

It is believed the same driver then turned at the nearby roundabout, before mounting the kerb twice and making contact with the victim, causing him to sustain a leg injury.

Officers have carried out a number of enquiries including the analysis of CCTV footage. If you recognise the man pictured, please contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police Contact Centre.

You can also call 101 quoting incident reference 19100480239 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or via their online form at: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/give-information.
