A worried taxi customer rang 999 after realising they did not receive a receipt for their taxi.
Shocked call handlers from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) Contact Management Centre shared details of the call this week, highlighting that this was not a reason to call the emergency services.
A spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, it is definitely not suitable to ring 999 as you did not receive a receipt for your taxi.”
Other recent calls and requests taken by the WYP call handlers include asking for the police to escort a caller into Mcdonalds to get a burger after they were refused entry and a complaint that ‘social services won't give me my money’.
