TAXI TRACKERS AND ‘LONE WORKER DEVICES’: Met Police and TfL produce safety advice for taxi drivers

Perry Richardson

The Metropolitan Police Service, in partnership with TfL, has produced a leaflet for taxi and private hire drivers containing practical information on how drivers can keep their money and possessions safe while also ensuring their own personal safety.

The information suggests ‘lone working devices’ as a good way to make emergency contact with a monitoring station should the cabbie feel threatened at any point.

The police also suggests attaching a vehicle tracking device to the taxi so that it can help locate the vehicle if stolen.

The leaflet also includes information on how to report any criminal activity you may see while driving.
