Transport for London provides guidance to taxi drivers on Heathrow Terminal Drop-off Charge Refunds

In a recent email newsletter sent by Transport for London (TfL) the regulator provided clarity for taxi drivers seeking refunds for the Heathrow Terminal drop-off charge.

According to a TfL spokesperson, taxi drivers who believe they are entitled to a refund for specific circumstances are advised to follow the prescribed procedures.

The spokesperson highlighted two specific situations where drivers may be eligible for a refund. Firstly, if the charge occurred during an inter-Terminal job or while transferring from the Taxi Park to Terminal 3. Secondly, if drivers have received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for the same reasons.

To initiate the refund process, TfL has advised affected taxi drivers to take the following steps:

1. Visit the Heathrow Airport Limited website: Drivers should access the airport's official website to begin the PCN appeal process. The website will provide detailed instructions on how to challenge the charge.

2. Email Refunds.heathrowdropoff@apcoa.com: Drivers seeking a refund for the drop-off charge must send an email to this specified address. In the email, drivers are required to provide the following information:

a. Badge Number: Drivers should clearly state their unique Badge Number, which is issued by TfL.

b. Charge Receipt Number: This number can be obtained from the driver's auto pay account.

c. VRN Number on the Charge Notice: The Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) indicated on the PCN should be included in the email.

d. Date and Time of Contravention: Accurate information regarding the date and time when the charge was incurred should be provided.

By adhering to these guidelines, taxi drivers can ensure they complete the necessary steps to appeal the PCN or apply for a refund of the Heathrow Terminal drop-off charge.
