West Midlands Police ‘immediately prohibit’ FOUR PHVs and taxis during checks
West Midland Police conducted checks on 90 Wolverhampton and Birmingham PHV’s and taxis which resulted in 4 vehicles being ‘immediately prohibited’.
Officers from the traffic unit conducted the checks, paid for by the local councils, and also uncovered a further 10 vehicles with ‘correctable issues’.
The police were however happy to see the majority of vehicles checked ‘safe and compliant’.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said via social media: “We were in Birmingham and Wolverhampton working with their councils conducting taxi licensing/safety checks last night.
“A total of 90 were stopped with only 4 being immediately prohibited and 10 had correctable issues but the majority were safe and compliant which is great to see.”
