21 Oct 2017

A woman who took a ride in an Uber, has accused her driver of masturbating during the journey.

Uma Sharma, 25, from Delhi, took the ride in Hyderabad, India, on Thursday to the airport when she alleges her driver begin to masturbate while continuing to glance back at her through the rear view mirror.

As reported in the NDTV  Uma Sharma wrote on her Facebook post;

"Today my #Uber driver thought it perfectly normal to masturbate while dropping me to the airport. As soon as we were on the relatively empty road ORR in #Hyderabad, he slowed the car to about a 50 Kmph and kept glancing back in the rearview mirror "

Ms Sharma, claims the driver only stopped the car after she kept screaming.

The incident took place at 7:30am on October 19.

"...I choose to speak up and I won't stop until #UberIndia takes responsibility for their non-existent driver verification and complete disregard for their passengers safety " Ms Sharma continued to write in her Facebook post.

Uber India have confirmed the dismissal of the driver but have offered no updates on how they're looking to solve such incidents from happening again.

Uber India have been blasted along similar lines of inadequate customer care in the past.
