Cab driver from Kent found guilty

4 Nov 2017

Kent cab driver James Wilkinson was yesterday found guilty of false imprisonment and dangerous driving at Blackfriars Crown Court.

Wilkinson 57, who was described by Judge David Richardson as a "blustering bully", recieved a four month prison sentence suspended for a year, and was told he must complete 210 hours community service, he was also banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay £1,000 compensation.

Yesterday we reported in TaxiPoint how Wilkinson, a London cab driver for 20 years, entered into a dispute with Helia Ebrahimi, a journalist for Channel 4 news, over a faulty rear heater, which then escalated.

The resulting verdict has led to the revocation of Wilkinsons Taxi licence and the subsequent loss of his livelihood.
