Watford pay £2000 in taxi fares to rescue stranded fans

27 Nov 2017

Watford emerged winners both on and off the pitch on saturday after footing the bill to rescue stranded fans.

50 supporters were stuck near Donnington Park after their coach broke down on  the way to St James Park.

Upon hearing of the supporters becoming stranded,  representatives of the club quickly went into action to lay on a fleet of taxis to transport the fans and get them to the ground in time for kick-off.

Despite the fare from Donnington Park to Newcastle coming to a whopping £350,  Watford were more than happy to cover the cost of the 6 taxis,  totalling over £2000.

The fans ordeal was soon forgotten as Watford  thumped Newcastle 3-0 with goals from Will Hughes, Andre Gray and an own goal from DeAndre Yedlin
