Opinion split amongst London firms on Uber licence non-renewal

28 Jan 2018

A consultation conducted by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has shown that a slight majority of London companies support the decision to not issue Uber a new operators licence.

The study shows 46% of the 577 London businesses surveyed agreed with the decision made by Transport for London whilst 38% disagreed with the regulator.

In the same survey it was also revealed that 42% of companies prefer using Uber for business travel compared to 41% who say they don’t.

The chief executive of the LCCI, Colin Stanbridge, told City AM “We certainly support competition and the improvements it can often bring to industries.

“However, all businesses, in all sectors, always need to remember that they have to operate to high standards and deliver excellent customer service.”
