London: Weekly roads and events update

22 Feb 2018

Westminster
Until Sunday 25 February, there will be various road restrictions and closures in place:
•From 23:30 on Friday 23 until 23:59 on Sunday 25 February, A4 Piccadilly eastbound between Old Park Lane and Down Street will be closed. This is for a crane operation
•From 00:01 on Saturday 24 until 22:00 on Sunday 25 February, Victoria Street between Buckingham Gate and Palace Street will be closed. This is for a crane operation
•From 08:00 on Saturday 24 until 16:00 on Sunday 25 February, Cockspur Street westbound between Spring Gardens and Pall Mall will be closed. This is for utility works

Fulham Broadway
Until 21:00 on Wednesday 28 February, there will be temporary traffic signals in place on Fulham Road at the junction of North End Road and Fulham Broadway. This is due to Thames Water works.

Heathrow
Between 22:00 and 05:00 each night until Saturday 3 March, the M4 Heathrow Spur (Northbound) between Junction 4A (Emirates Roundabout) and M4 Junction 4 will be closed. A diversion via A4 Bath Road eastbound and A312 The Parkway northbound is in place. This is due to Highways England works.

North Circular Road
Until 05:00 on Saturday 24 March, lane restrictions will be in place on Hanger Lane in both directions at the junction of Madeley Road. These will be in place from 22:00 until 05:00 Sunday to Friday. This is due to traffic signal upgrade works.

Marylebone Road
Until late May 2018, one lane in each direction will be closed along Marylebone Road, between the junctions with Balcombe Street and Baker Street. The bus lane is suspended through the works area while the lane closures are in place, so please use both open lanes if you are driving through the area. During peak hours, motorists can expect delays of at least 20 minutes on the approaches to the works. This is due to the second phase of works to convert Baker Street and Gloucester Place to two way traffic.

Farringdon Road
Changes have been made to the Farringdon Road and Farringdon Lane junctions with Ray Street Bridge and Ray Street, as part of the Cycle Superhighway. Please observe the new permanent road layout changes and signalisation with new pedestrian crossings. Changes include: Ray Street Bridge and Farringdon Lane one-way directions have been reversed to one-way eastbound on Ray Street Bridge and one-way northbound on Farringdon Lane to simplify the new junction and provide a contra-flow cycle lane on Ray Street Bridge. There is an alternative route onto Farringdon Road via Farringdon Lane.

Stratford Town Hall
Private hire vehicles must not wait on the cycle path outside Stratford Town Hall, as this is dangerous for cyclists and blocks the use of the cycle path.

Waterloo Station
From 20:00 on Friday 23 until 20:00 on Sunday 25 February, Station Approach Road will be closed to all vehicles. This is for a crane operation. Taxis to use Spur Road for access and egress to the taxi rank.

Wembley
From 13:30 until 20:30 on Sunday 25 February roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is for the Carabao Cup final between Arsenal and Manchester City.
