Uber’s Court of Appeal hearing regarding workers rights will take place on 31 October and 1 November 2018.
The landmark ruling means Uber would have to give workers rights to all of its drivers. Some of those benefits include holiday payments and a minimum wage.
The GMB, the union for taxi and professional hire drivers, have commented on the announcement saying that it is important to workers in many spheres and that they hope the result will solidify the various work types within the UK.
Steve Garelick, GMB Regional Officer added: “Further delays in finally proving the original decision was the right one will leave workers at the mercy of companies which play fast and loose with their lives.”
