Czech Republic Prime Minister tells Uber "you are not allowed to break rules!"

9 Mar 2018

Large protests staged by taxi drivers in the Czech Republic's capital of Prague over the past few months against ride-hailing giant Uber, prompted their Prime Minister Andrej Babis to meet with Uber's country officials on Thursday.

The decision was made to enforce all drivers for Uber will need to get business certificates and be licensed.

Mr Andrej Babis said the government supported new technology but the company was not allowed to break rules and gain advantage over other groups.

Reuters  reported that a memorandum would be signed by the end of March.
