Cabbies lose Philly court case against Uber

29 Mar 2018

A Philadelphia court has this week re-affirmed that Uber did not breach anti-trust legislation, despite agreeing that ride-hailing app was damaging to the taxi industry.

The court also stated that Uber's pricing structure was of a benefit to customers, so long as they weren't operating a predatory pricing initiative, it also reinforced competition.

In a previous court hearing, it was argued that Uber were creating a monopoly via deliberate over-saturation of the marketplace and ignoring city regulations, thus driving cab companies to the brink of financial collapse. The court however, found no evidence to support the claim.
