Marco Pierre White's son admits making off without paying taxi fare

12 Jul 2019

It's been revealed in the Swindon Advertiser that Marco Pierre White Jnr, son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White, is to check himself into rehab after admitting making off without payment from a taxi and a pub, and possession of a class A drug.

The 24-year-old, who has had issues with cocaine in the past, avoided paying for a £30 taxi ride, along with a £34 bill at a pub.

White Jnr, who appeared in the dock at Swindon Magistrates Court on Thursday 11 July, handed himself into police after a warrant for his arrest was issued. He had failed to appear before the court on 10 July on charges of theft, drugs possession and assault.

White Jnr, of Rudloe Hall, Corsham, admitted: being in possession of 204 oxycodone tablets and a class A drug back in February; not paying a £30 fare to a taxi driver who had taken him to the Rudloe Arms Hotel on 12 March; and leaving the Northey Arms in Box on 25 January without paying for his £34.60 meal.

White Jnr pleaded not guilty to assaulting two women at his father's Rudloe Arms Hotel.

Gordon Hotson, defending White Jnr, claimed that his client has refunded the pub, and confirmed that White Jnr would be attending rehab for 12 weeks from Saturday 13 July.

White Jnr was bailed to be tried on two assault charges on 19 September, at Swindon Magistrates' Court. Chairman of the bench, Amanda Lee, told him that he would be sentenced for the other matters after the assault trial.
