Swindon fleet acquisition boost for private hire firm V Cars

Regional private hire vehicle operator, V Cars, which has operations in Bath, Bristol, Chippenham and Swindon, has increased the capacity of its Swindon-based fleet by a third through the acquisition of local firm United Radio Cars.

The deal to purchase United Radio Cars, formed in 1999, makes V Cars the No.1 private hire company in Swindon, with almost 400 partner-driver numbers delivering nearly 1 million journeys per year.

V Cars is owned by the technology focused passenger services group, Veezu, which acquired the business in July 2017. The group has three other major service hubs throughout the UK, each operating under established local brands – Dragon Taxis in South Wales, A2B Radio Cars in the West Midlands and Amber Cars in Leeds.

Nathan Bowles, CEO, Veezu Holdings Ltd, said: “The recent acquisition of United Radio Cars Ltd. has significantly expanded the capacity of the V Cars fleet and strengthens our local service capacity in one of our key regional hubs, Swindon.

“United Radio Cars driver partners and passengers will now be able to experience Veezu’s market-leading booking technology and service standards, which will improve the customer experience greatly. This means our customers will be able to enjoy the ease of booking and paying for services via the V Cars mobile app, or if they prefer, phoning our call centre and connecting with our people to book and pay for their journeys with cash.

“We look forward to creating amazing journeys for our new passengers and driver partners”
