Cyclist head-butts pedestrian after running red light crossing in London

10 Sep 2019

City of London Police are appealing to the public to help them identify a cyclist who violently head-butted a pedestrian.

The victim was walking across the road when a cyclist jumped a red light and nearly collided with him. The cyclist, in a moment of unexplained rage, then got off his bike and head-butted the victim.

The assault, captured on CCTV, took place on Farringdon Street on 22 August at around 13:45.

The 57 year old man was left needing stitches to a wound above his eye, and suffered ligament damage to his arm where he fell.

PC Fisk, from the City of London Police, said: “We are asking the public to help us identify this cyclist, whose needlessly violent actions has left a member of the public with some nasty injuries.

“If anyone has any information about the man who carried out this assault, please contact us. He is described as a white man in his 40s, around 5ft 10, of medium build, with short greying hair.”
