A Stirling cabbie says he has become the latest victim of violence in the taxi industry after allegedly being stabbed by his passenger in a vicious knife attack.
The taxi driver, who wishes to be known only as JC, says he picked up the fare from the taxi rank at Murray Place in Stirling City Centre at 11.30pm on Saturday 21 September.
The cabbie states he was then asked to go to an address in Grangemouth. The passenger was quoted a fixed price of £35 by JC, to which the man was said to have agreed and he sat in the front of the taxi.
During the journey JC said he noticed that the passenger had his hand on the door handle, and according to the cabbie he looked ready to "jump".
In an account of the incident, JC says that he commented to his passenger: "You don't have any money do you?" He stated that the passenger then denied that he had no money and that he in turn replied: “Before i stop could you pay me, if not we're going to Falkirk police station." JC says his passenger then said: "OK let me get it."
JC then described how he had his hand on the gear-stick and was changing gear when the passenger allegedly produced a knife and stabbed him in the arm, dragging the blade across his arm.

JC says the attacker then put the knife to his neck and said: "Stop the f****** car and let me out before i slit your throat."
JC then brought the car to a halt and his alledged attacker jumped out and ran off along Kerse Road, Grangemouth, at around 11.55pm.
He had to have seventeen stitches put in the wound, however the cabbie joked on social media, saying: "That's another kind of assault i can tick off of my list - a stabbing."
The alledged knifeman is described as White, around 5ft 9 tall average length brown hair, a goatee beard. He is said to have had an Irish accent and was in his mid 20's. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and had a small Nike bag upon his person.
A statement has been made to the Police and CCTV footage is being examined.
