Uber has revealed that they are to undertake a whole raft of updates in a bid to consolidate much of its operation onto one app at a launch event in San Francisco last Thursday.
Among the features which will be consolidated are its food delivery arm, Uber Eats, as well as its bike hire facility.
Over 25 changes will be taking place as the tech giant looks to offer what it calls an "everyday life" aspect to the app.
Uber CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, said: "We want Uber to be the operating system for your everyday life: however you want to move around your city, and whatever you need, we want Uber to be your go-to app."
Other features to be added to the app will include:
Dara Khosrowshahi added: "We are expanding our in-app Transit option to San Francisco, Mexico City and Paris today, and 7 more cities (on every continent!) by the end of the year. We’re excited to bring real-time scheduling and fare information from some of the biggest public transportation systems in the world onto the Uber app."
Other changes will see Improved Real-Time ID Check which will ensure that the driver behind the wheel matches the account in Uber's system.
Also announced was a new update to make bikes and scooters easier to find.
