Prince Philip hands over his London taxi to museum
Updated: May 21, 2024
For 18 years, it has carried the Duke of Edinburgh incognito around the capital, an eco-friendly London taxi to blend in seamlessly with ordinary traffic. This weekend, the green Metrocab is to go on public display for the first time as the Duke donates it to Sandringham Museum, to be parked alongside Royal vehicles dating back to 1900. The Duke has been using the cab since 1999, causing much amusement over the years with its very ordinary appearance.
