Bradford cabbies incensed following new changes

A host of new changes for both private hire and taxis in Bradford were given the nod after heated discussions at City Hall today. Taxi drivers stood to hear the proposals being discussed which will mean owners of all licensed vehicles will now be asked to display a window sticker which encourages passengers to report child sexual exploitation.

Included in the changes is also a proposed “code of conduct” on how drivers should behave whilst working and more thorough background checks.

New changes will also be introduced from September this year which relates to the length of driver and operator licenses. There will be an increase in retest fees if vehicles fail to meet the required standards.
