London's shut... again. Athletics the latest event to cripple the capital

From Friday 4 until Sunday 13 August, the IAAF World Championships will take place in London. The majority of the athletics events will take place at the London Stadium, Stratford, with some on closed roads in central London. 

On Sunday 6 August, the marathons will be taking place in central London, starting and finishing on Tower Bridge, following a four lap route via the Victoria Embankment, the City of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Guildhall and Bank Junction. The following roads will be closed:

• From 04:00 until 20:00, Tower Bridge from Tooley Street to East Smithfield • From 06:00 until 19:00, a number of roads in Westminster and the City of London
