The Greater London Authority and Transport for London will set aside £4.5m to create as many as 1,500 charging points for electric vehicles across London.
25 of London's boroughs will be able to claim £300,000 to install a total of 1,500 charge points. This initiative will focus on increasing on-street charging facilities to entice residents to make the move towards electric vehicle technology, especially those without the ability to create their own off-street charging point.
This comes as welcome news to the London taxi trade as the new LEVC eCity taxi arrives on to the capitals roads.
