Jeff Immelt is favourite to become Uber’s next CEO

According to numerous sources the front-runner to become the new Uber CEO is the former chairman of General Electric, Jeff Immelt.

It is thought that whilst friction remains on the Uber board, especially between former CEO Travis Kalanick and investors Benchmark, there is a preference to appoint a steady experienced leader this time round.

So who is Jeff Immelt?

According to Wikipedia "Jeff is an American business executive. He is currently the chairman of the board of the US-based conglomerate General Electric. He was selected as GE's CEO by their Board of Directors in 2000 to replace Jack Welch upon Welch's retirement from GE. Previously, Immelt had headed up GE's Medical Systems division (now known as GE Healthcare) as its President and CEO. Effective August 1, 2017 Immelt stepped down as GE's CEO."

Time will tell whether Uber can coax a high profile CEO to take over what seems to be a ship veering off into the sunset. Who will risk their professional identity by taking up the challenge?
