Expedia boss Dara Khosrowshahi plays with fire as the new Uber CEO

Uber has finally named a new CEO to take over its controversial transport platform. Expedia boss Dara Khosrowshahi is set to take over after months of speculation and no leadership.

Whilst the decision has been made, according to a BBC news source, the American minicab firm have yet to make the announcement officially.

Khosrowshahi faces a huge challenge trying to repair damage on numerous fronts. From in house board room battles to internal and external sexual harassment.

The role of Uber CEO has been banded around for sometime with several high profile names quick to distance themselves from the speculation. Hewlett Packard head Meg Whitman and General Electric chairman Jeff Immelt were just two of the names linked to the role.

Khosrowshahi now faces the arduous task of taking a company losing over $600m each quarter, to a long term profitable company. Uber's main selling point is it's cheap fares for customers and it remains to be seen how the the CEO will turn the fortunes of the company around.
