Waymo wants $1bn and public apology from Uber

Google's Waymo have asked for a minimum $1 billion and a public apology in a bid to settle their longstanding legal dispute.

Waymo have also asked for an independent person to be put in place to monitor whether Uber use any of their driverless car technology in the future.

According to sources via The Independent, Uber have said no to the terms offered. It must also be said that the sources were not authorised to openly discuss talks around the settlement so the exact amount put forward by Waymo could not be pinpointed.

TaxiPoint have read via a number of sources that the Waymo case is incredibly strong and that the Google based company are in no rush to reach a deal outside of court unless it satisfies their demands for damages caused.
