New Uber chief legal officer heads West

Controversial minicab app Uber have recruited a new chief legal officer.

Tony West replaces Salle Yoo who is due to leave the organisation in the next couple of weeks. Yoo handed in her resignation soon after new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi was appointed.

Mr West will arrive from PepsiCo where he held a similar position. His role within Uber is considered one of the most crucial roles within the organisation as it fights legal action on many fronts across multiple countries.

Whilst Uber are fighting locally in London to renew this operators licence, they are also embroiled in huge ongoing legal cases like the Waymo lawsuit.

According to an email seen by Reuters  CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said "Tony is exactly what Uber needs now".
