Life after "The Knowledge"

The cab trade will be very sorry to see this Saturday's ending of the ten-week run of the acclaimed show " The Knowledge ", which many cabbies and their families ( ncluding us!) have enjoyed and praised. Watching the show has been an emotional experience for many, as Maureen Lipman and the cast have done such a great job of portraying the rigours and agonies of the KOL process. It's also hilarious and Steven Pacey has already been nominated for a Best Actor award for his portrayal of Carriage Office examiner Mr Burgess. If you rush, there's still time to see the show ... tickets are still available up to Saturday 11th November. We thought you might be interested to see what's next from the theatre and its owner/producers Vaughan Williams and Steven M Levy. We are pleased to announce that rehearsals are well under way for The Woman in White.

Celebrated rising star Thom Southerland will direct this brand new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony and Olivier-Award nominated musical in a strictly limited 12-week season - the first performance is November 21st. A tempestuous tale of love, betrayal and greed, adapted from Wilkie Collins’s haunting Victorian thriller, this is the premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber and David Zippel’s revised score. Walter Hartright’s life is changed forever after a chance encounter with a mysterious woman, dressed in white, desperate to reveal her chilling secret. When he takes up his position as drawing master to the beautiful Laura Fairlie and her half sister, Marian, he sees in Laura’s face an eerie reflection of the forlorn creature he met previously. Walter and Laura’s feelings for each other are thwarted by her engagement to the sinister Sir Percival Glyde. What is the connection between, Laura, Sir Percival, and the woman in white? Can true love prevail? The production will star Anna O'Byrne (The Phantom of the Opera) as Laura Fairlie alongside Chris Peluso (Miss Saigon) as Sir Percival Glyde, Carolyn Maitland (Ghost) as Marian, Ashley Stillburn (The Phantom of the Opera) as Walter Hartright, Greg Castiglioni (Titanic) as Count Fosco, and Sophie Reeves (Les Miserables) as Anne. The Woman in White is produced by Patrick Gracey, Steven M. Levy and Vaughan Williams by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Limited.
